Now I offended Oregon, Montana and Delaware?

Posted by Steve Leighton

Eighty or so years ago Nevada passed gambling only 8 days after the feds passed a bill to build the Hoover Dam. And, now the folks are upset when I indicated that three other states are not significant in the world of team sports betting…

Let me explain my point:

Nevada: 80+ years and running with full casino sports books allowing every kind of bet you can imagine and even a few bets that seem absurd. Football betting on the National Football League has taken Vegas to a whole new level of sports betting entertainment.

Oregon: Where? No sports books and a sports lotto that no longer exists.

Montana: Who? No casino sports books and some silly little sports lotto.

Delaware: What? A minimum of a three team parlay is sports betting?

I don’t think so!

New Jersey: The casinos are already in place in Atlantic City. Construction on the sports books will be underway before the NFL kicks off the 2012 season this fall, and there just might be a few people living less than three hours away in a little town called New York City. They do like their football betting.

Look out Las Vegas, here comes Atlantic City!
